Hey Rad Mortals!! How’s brutal life treating you. (not really a question-) Now, before we dive into the book tour, I have news! I redesigned my blog! It’s not done yet but I LOVE it! It ultimately shows my aesthetic✨.
ANYWAYS, I am a pile of ugly mess on the floor right now. I absolutely HATE the fact that in book tour reviews, giving spoilers is illegal not allowed. YOU LISTENING, TBR AND BEYOND TOURS???!! CHANGE THAT RULE RIGHT NOW. I have no idea how I’m gonna manage to write a review of a book without giving spoilers. But oh well, life’s vicious like that ;—–;
*ahem ahem* So, where was I? Oh yes, I was about to FINALLY bring up the book tour! NO MORE RAMBLING NOW BECAUSE I NEED TO GET DONE WITH BOOK INFO AND AUTHOR INFO FIRST SO THAT I CAN RANT ON AND ON ABOUT THIS BOOK IN THE REVIEW. PLUS! There’s a mood board I made for the book which you’ll see later in the post.
Now, let’s officially commence, shall we?

Synopsis:
The beach read you have been dying for! When ten of America’s hottest teenage influencers are invited to an exclusive island resort, things are sure to get wild. But murder isn’t what anyone expected. Will anyone survive?
Everyone knows Unknown Island—it’s the world’s most exclusive destination. Think white sand beaches, turquoise seas, and luxury accommodations. Plus, it’s invite only, no one over twenty-one allowed, and it’s absolutely free. Who wouldn’t want to go?
After launching with a showstopping viral marketing campaign, the whole world is watching as the mysterious resort opens its doors to the First Ten, the ten elite influencers specifically chosen to be the first to experience everything Unknown Island has to offer. You know them. There’s the gamer, the beauty blogger, the rich girl, the superstar, the junior politician, the environmentalist, the DJ, the CEO, the chef, and the athlete.
What they don’t know is that they weren’t invited to Unknown Island for their following—they were invited for their secrets. Everyone is hiding a deadly one, and it looks like someone’s decided it’s payback time. Unknown Island isn’t a vacation, it’s a trap. And it’s beginning to look like the First Ten—no matter how influential—are never coming home.

Thank you to TBR and Beyond Tours, NetGalley, and the author, Kate Williams, for providing me with a free digital copy to read. This has not affected my thoughts on the book. You can check out the other posts on the tour here.

review of the gem that traumatized me and hooked me till death-
just kidding about the death part lol-
I had the eARC of this book for over a month and I DID NOT read it at all until June 16th (just 3 days before the tour) [#genius #certifiedprocrastinator]– perhaps lingering for some kind of angel to come into my dreams, make it a deadly nightmare and torture me into reading this book. And um, that may have actually happened!!! Recall, I said MAY. So…long story short, I eventually opened NetGalley Shelf on my tablet and began devouring this book. AND HELL ITS SO GOOD. LIKE???!!! It didn’t take me that long to devour it (i think the one and only brain cell i have left after reading this book thinks it took me 3 days). The plot didn’t take much time to hook me in. Though, it took me a while to remember all the characters perfectly since there were 10 MCs in total. This book literally had me weeping at the end. It’s damn good. It’s kind of like a locked-room mystery but it’s island instead of room. With the descriptions Kate wrote, I could very well experience the creepy summer-y aura of this book. I love the “strangers-brought-together-under-mysterious-circumstances-and-bumped-off-one-by-one” trope. This book had my one brain cell guessing the upcoming twists and then being betrayed because the guesses turned out to be wrong. It WASN’T predictable at all. And this book also had the “murder of influencers” trope which I CAN’T GET ENOUGH of. OH. M. GEE. How do you write a review without giving spoilers???!! Some character deaths felt stupid– I would have survived more than these characters if I were on this island. I became so addicted to ‘one more chapter’ while reading NEVER COMING HOME. I’M OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK IS MY CHILD, MY GEM,– MY EVERYTHING. The characters varied in their likability, which makes it harder to figure out the true murderer because they’re all fishy. There’s plenty of focus on the pressures of being in the public eye, putting up facades, the privileges and consequences that come with being a social media influencer, etc. The story is told from multiple perspectives, the cast of characters is diverse, the tensions are high, and the ending….😭😭🔪🩸🦴✨. The ending explanation was a bit confusing but intriguing and it’s explained in a very different way which isn’t a bad thing. Though the ending felt a little ridiculous, it was still good and rather unexpected. I was also confused at one point. I hate how the character I cared most about turned out to be the murderer. LIKE WUT??!!! I’ve decided chapter 9 is my favorite. It’s so aesthetically pleasing to picture. This book convinced me to read Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None! I’m not into classics but I might pick it up sometime soon. I FREAKIN’ hope there’s a sequel!! Because there is potential.
Rating of NCH: ★★★★☆ (4.5 stars✨)

This is the mood board for NEVER COMING HOME! I hope you all like it as much as I do. I spent so much time browsing through Pinterest and making this. As you can see, I took many photos from Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None‘s television series because the vibe JUST matched the vibe of this book! I didn’t think they would match this perfectly but they did and I’m glad!
Here’s a question to those who have read NCH: Do you think the TV screen image matched the Unknown Island’s Instagram account’s display on the screen in the book? Do you think I found the right photo? (that was the closest photo I could find-)
Anyway folks, I think this mood board is almost perfect for the book! I’m glad I could be part of this blog tour! Thank you so much TBR and Beyond Tours!

And that’s a wrap! I loved reading this book and writing this post! Reading NCH was an obsessive experience because I was so hooked but I loved it! I’m thrilled to have devoured this book! Thank you so much everyone for reading this post! And another thank you to Kate Williams for writing such a fabulous book! See you all later, bye mortals.
